What is an Endodontist?

Endodontists are dentists who have completed advanced specialty education in diagnosis and root canal treatment accredited by the ADA Commission on Dental Accreditation.

They are exclusive to the practice of endodontics and treat these types of problems every day. Endodontists use their special training and experience to treat more complicated root canal treatment cases, such as teeth with narrow or blocked canals, or unusual anatomy. Endodontists may use specialized equipment and materials to treat these teeth.

Dr. James Johnson has stepped in as Interim Dean of the University of Washington School of Dentistry
The WSAE is proud to announce Dr. James Johnson has stepped in as Interim Dean of the University of Washington School of Dentistry.  As the school is going through changes it is reassuring that someone with years of professional and academic experience has taken the helm.  He has been the Head of several Endodontics Departments in the Navy and until his role as Interim Dean was the Program Director and Chair of the Endodontics Department at the University of Washington. His leadership should help guide the school through this difficult time.  Congratulations to Dr. James Johnson, we are all supporting him and wishing him success in his new position!
